- 2 lb beef stew meat (1" cubes)
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 onion (chopped)
- 3 garlic cloves (smashed)
- 3 carrots (chunked)
- 3 celery stalks (chopped)
- 3 potatoes (chunked)
- 28 oz canned tomatoes
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- Salt + pepper
Coat beef in flour, salt, pepper
Brown beef in hot oil, set aside
Sauté onion, garlic, celery, carrots 5 min
Add tomato paste, cook 1 min
Add beef, tomatoes, bay leaves, soy sauce
Simmer covered 1½-2 hours until tender
Add potatoes last 30 min
Serve with rice
