Ingredients

  • 2 lb beef stew meat (1" cubes)
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 3 garlic cloves (smashed)
  • 3 carrots (chunked)
  • 3 celery stalks (chopped)
  • 3 potatoes (chunked)
  • 28 oz canned tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • Salt + pepper

Instructions

  • Coat beef in flour, salt, pepper
  • Brown beef in hot oil, set aside
  • Sauté onion, garlic, celery, carrots 5 min
  • Add tomato paste, cook 1 min
  • Add beef, tomatoes, bay leaves, soy sauce
  • Simmer covered 1½-2 hours until tender
  • Add potatoes last 30 min
  • Serve with rice
